Dr. Michael Dukes grew up in Tampa, Florida where his education led him to the University of South Florida. After attending USF, he was fortunate enough to be accepted to a number of highly regarded dental programs, Emory, Loyola, Georgetown and Washington University, among them. Dr. Dukes and his wife decided on Washington University in St. Louis as it was both a great program and her home town. It was here that Dr. Dukes received his dental degree, finishing near the top of his class.
Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Dukes sought further training and completed a General Dentistry Residency with the United States Navy at Naval Air Station, Jacksonville Florida. During his tenure with the Navy, then Lieutenant Dr. Dukes was deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm.
After completion of his Navy service, Dr. Dukes returned to Jacksonville and began practicing in Atlantic Beach. He truly enjoys Dentistry and the opportunity to serve his community by caring for their dental needs. Dr. Dukes also enjoys and is committed to taking ongoing dental education courses. To date, he has completed over 1500 hours of continuing education since finishing dental school. This lifelong commitment to ongoing education and training is a tremendous benefit to his patients.
Dr. Dukes is an active member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Jacksonville Dental Society, and the Beaches Study Club. Dr. Dukes has been recognized for his abilities as one of Jacksonville’s Best Dentists in Jacksonville Magazine. He has also been selected as one of “America’s Top Dentists” by The Consumer Research Council of America, an independent consumer group.
Dr Dukes currently resides in Atlantic Beach with his wife Mary and daughter Emily.
